Guard attacked for no apparent reason<\/p>\n
A security guard on duty at the 99 Cents Supermarket in Garapan early Thursday morning complained to police he was attacked by a man for unknown reasons.<\/p>\n
Victim Shah Alam Khan, 33, told authorities the suspect, Mario O. Sablan, descended from his vehicle, ran towards him, and allegedly started assaulting him.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old man reportedly did so by grabbing him in the nose area.<\/p>\n
Mr. Sablan, a resident of As Lito, was spotted by police later that day near within the Commonwealth Health Center grounds.<\/p>\n
He was then arrested for charges of assault and battery.<\/p>\n
Teen nabbed for alcohol use<\/p>\n
A passenger of a vehicle that was pulled over for illegally changing lanes along Beach Road was booked to the juvenile detention on charges of minor consuming alcohol and illegal possession of controlled substance.<\/p>\n
The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene to escape police arrest.<\/p>\n
The arrestee, Lodrigo F. Castro from San Roque was found by police to be intoxicated with alcohol. When the 19-year-old admitted his age to the police officer, he was immediately taken under custody for consuming alcohol below the legal drinking age.<\/p>\n
Further, authorities also found green leafy substances, possibly marijuana, under the possession of the suspect.<\/p>\n
Mr. Castro was also charged with illegal possession of controlled substance.<\/p>\n
More alleged ice users at Hopwood uncovered<\/p>\n
Hopwood Junior High School administrators turned over to police another set of students allegedly caught smoking marijuana.<\/p>\n
The male juveniles, a bunch of 15 and 14-year-olds, were caught engaging in the act Wednesday afternoon by HJHS Vice Principal Brenda Haddox.<\/p>\n
The school official immediately brought the students to the principal’s office where they were submitted for disciplinary action.<\/p>\n
A pack of cigarettes were also confiscated from the students’ possession.<\/p>\n
This, along with a burnt wrapper which reportedly contained green leafy substances.<\/p>\n
The items were seized by police for evidence.<\/p>\n
The teenagers were brought to the juvenile detention center to be processed and detained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
