A six-year-old child suffered severe head injuries after falling from the back of a pick-up truck over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Without adult supervision, police said that the minor was allowed to sit on top of a stack of chairs piled at the bed of the moving vehicle when he fell over.<\/p>\n
The victim reportedly sustained major head injuries, including severe swelling on the brain and abrasions on the left skull and facial areas.<\/p>\n
The operator of the vehicle was identified as the child’s mother, who was reportedly driving within the Tanapag village though in a slow pace.<\/p>\n
Three children aged five, six, and twelve were seated at the bed of the truck when the incident occurred near the Santa Lourdes store in Tanapag.<\/p>\n
Somehow, police said, the six-year-old slid off from aboard the bed of the truck, landing on the ground.<\/p>\n
The mother then brought the victim back to their house, where his father immediately rushed him to the hospital.<\/p>\n
At the health center, the mother was questioned by traffic investigators about the accident.<\/p>\n
She was later cited for illegally allowing her underage children to sit at the bed of the truck without being adult supervision.<\/p>\n
The lady, a resident of Tanapag, was also cited for reckless driving with load not securely fastened, vehicle integrity, failure to renew registration of vehicle.<\/p>\n
