{"id":6319,"date":"2012-03-28T01:53:42","date_gmt":"2012-03-28T01:53:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=6319"},"modified":"2012-03-28T01:53:42","modified_gmt":"2012-03-28T01:53:42","slug":"woman-in-ice-case-pleads-guilty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/woman-in-ice-case-pleads-guilty\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman in &#8216;ice&#8217; case pleads guilty"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Ferdie de la Torre<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>A woman arrested by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents for allegedly selling methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d near a school on Saipan pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Yue Xin Tang pleaded guilty to count 2 of the indictment charging her with distribution of \u201cice\u201d within 1,000 feet near a public school.<\/p>\n<p>She will be sentenced on July 6, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Tang, who appeared with court-appointed counsel Loren Sutton, was later remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshal.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona is presiding over the case.<\/p>\n<p>According to DEA special agent Jacqueline R. Gordon, they were able to buy $150 and $700 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Tang using a confidential source on Oct. 27, 2011, and Nov. 9, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon stated in her affidavit that, on Oct. 26, 2011, she and another DEA special agent, along with a Department of Public Safety Task Force officer, interviewed a DPS confidential source about Tang&#8217;s \u201cice\u201d distribution activities in Garapan.<\/p>\n<p>The following day, using the confidential source, Gordon said they were able to buy $150 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Tang at a parking lot behind Bank of Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon said that, on Nov. 9, 2011, they managed to buy $700 worth of \u201cice\u201d from her using the same confidential source at the parking lot of 99 Cents Store.<\/p>\n<p>Tang was arrested last month after the U.S. government filed a complaint charging Tang with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
