A woman accused a Commonwealth Ports Authority booth attendant of illegally confiscating her brother\u2019s driver\u2019s license Saturday, police said.<\/p>\n
Billy Joe Apatang Camacho told authorities that the attendant, identified as Brian Camacho, had asked him to surrender his driver\u2019s license while he went to ask his sister for the parking fee.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old complainant admitted he brought no cash to pay the $7.50 parking fee that the booth attendant was asking from him, Public Safety spokesperson Lt. Pete C. Mu\u00f1a reported.<\/p>\n
Bill Joe added that he had no idea the Charlie Dock terminal charged any fee for parking. The young man reportedly told the attendant that he had to get money from his sister at the Quarantine Office. <\/p>\n
The attendant allowed him to leave without paying the fee provided he surrendered his driver\u2019s license while he obtained the money.<\/p>\n
According to Mu\u00f1a, Camacho returned to the dock with his sister, Juanet, but found out that Brian Camacho, the booth attendant, already went off duty.<\/p>\n
He was replaced by David Camacho, who reportedly got instructions from Brian Camacho that he was not supposed to release Billy Joe\u2019s driver\u2019s license because it would be turned over to the main office.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1a said that after a while of negotiating, the on duty booth attendant finally released Billy Joe\u2019s driver\u2019s license accompanied by a receipt.<\/p>\n
Bill Joe\u2019s sister vowed to take care of the parking fee later and she was made to fill out a promissory slip.<\/p>\n
When she went back to her office, Juanet learned from talking to a police officer that it was illegal for a CPA booth attendant to confiscate her brother\u2019s driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
\u201cCPA booth attendants can\u2019t enforce traffic laws,\u201d said Mu\u00f1a yesterday.<\/p>\n
Juanet then drove back to the Charlie Dock booth and returned her brother\u2019s driver\u2019s license to the on duty attendant.<\/p>\n
She said they will be filing a complaint against the CPA booth attendant who had confiscated the license.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
