Lizama remanded defendant T-Knight Sanders Sasao, otherwise known as Mischol, to the custody of the Division of Corrections, after the defendant pleaded guilty to robbery and other charges last week.<\/p>\n<p>After plea negotiations with the government prosecution, Sasao, with aid of Assistant Public Defender Jeffrey Moots, owned up to charges of robbery, conspiracy and resisting arrest, in connection with a purse-snatching incident at the UIC garment factory last September 5, 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to the plea agreement, the government through Assistant Attorney General Barry Hirshbein dismissed the other charges against Sasao.<\/p>\n<p>Lizama, in a judgment and commitment order, directed Sasao to a total 123-month jail term, to be served concurrently,  based on all three charges. But the judge suspended the sentence to 30 months and 15 days.<\/p>\n<p>Sasao has been ordered to undergo supervised release for ten years and three months after he comes out of jail.<\/p>\n<p>The court also directed the defendant to pay $500 in fine, an assessment fee of $100, a probation fee of $100 and $400 as restitution to the victim.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant has been required to devote 200 hours of his time to community service, as well as, write a letter of apology to the victim.
