Thompson and Marcia K. Schultz, counsels for the masseuse and Saipan Portopia Hotel Corp. respectively, have notified the U.S. District Court for the NMI about their settlement.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson and Schultz said the parties have reached a full and final settlement on the plaintiff&#8217;s claims and that the court should dismiss the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to the settlement, the lawyers said, they have agreed that the matter be dismissed with prejudice in its entirety, meaning it cannot be re-opened.<\/p>\n<p>The parties, however, agreed that the federal court will retain jurisdiction over this case in order to enforce the settlement agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Each party will bear their own attorney&#8217;s fees and costs.<\/p>\n<p>According to Thompson in the complaint, the sexual harassment included sexual advances and sexually charged and unwelcome physical contract by the hotel&#8217;s assistant manager.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer said the plaintiff was terminated soon after she complained of the sexual harassment to the hotel&#8217;s human resources department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ferdie de la Torre Reporter The owner of Hyatt Regency Saipan has settled the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7180","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7180","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=7180"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7180\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7180"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=7180"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=7180"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
