(Contributed Photo)\" width=\"100\" height=\"62\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0 The board of directors of Micronesian Legal Services Corp. recently concluded its biannual meeting on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>The board members include CNMI representative Lucia Blanco-Maratita, Kosrae Senator Chang William; Republic of the Marshall Islands Minister of Justice Branson Wase; Mayor of Kolonia Town, Pohnpei, Marcelo Peterson; Chuuk Senator Arno Kony; Yap representative Michael Ga&#8217;an; Palauan representative Danny Ongelungel; and two at-large members, Alik Alik (RMI) and Robert Ruecho (Guam).<\/p>\n<p>Former Associate Justice Jesus \u201cJesse\u201d S. Borja gave the opening remarks. Borja worked for MLSC as an intern, as a lawyer, as deputy director, and then served on its board of directors. He is a former associate justice of the CNMI Supreme Court and former CNMI lieutenant governor. Now he acts as legal counsel to the Northern Marianas College.<\/p>\n<p>At its luncheon on Wednesday, the MLSC board honored Saipan employee Maria Palacios Mu\u00f1a for her 40 years of dedicated service in the Marianas Office. Mu\u00f1a started work as a secretary on Dec. 6, 1971 and, after many years, became a paralegal.\u00a0She handles a variety of tasks, with a heavy emphasis on domestic cases, and recently has helped with immigration matters.
