{"id":7194,"date":"2011-12-05T08:37:13","date_gmt":"2011-12-05T08:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=7194"},"modified":"2011-12-05T08:37:13","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T08:37:13","slug":"dps-sets-sobriety-checkpoints-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/dps-sets-sobriety-checkpoints-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"DPS sets sobriety checkpoints this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Public Safety&#8217;s Police Division and Traffic Investigation Unit will be conducting DUI\/sobriety checkpoints this week.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Dec. 7, the first setup will be from 7pm to 8:15pm, along Chalan Monsignor Guerrero in Chalan Kiya, in front of the CUC Waterloo. The second setup will be from 10:30pm to 11:45pm, along Beach Road Chalan Lau Lau, adjacent of Dr. Benusto Kaipat&#8217;s residence.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Dec. 8, the first setup will be from 6:30pm to 7:45pm, along Beach Road Susupe in front of the Minatchom Atdao. The second setup is from 10:30pm to 11:45pm, along Beach Road Garapan in front of Bank Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Dec. 9, the first setup will be from 7:30pm to 8:45pm, along Beach Road, Chalan Piao, in front of Hopwood Jr. High School. The second setup will be from 10;30pm to 11:45pm, along Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Lau Lau, in front of the IT&amp;E building.<\/p>\n<p>Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, traffic investigators and highway patrol officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>This activity is part of the department&#8217;s effort to deter, detect, and apprehend impaired drivers and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Sgt.
