A pedestrian was admitted to the Commonwealth Health Center Intensive Care Unit after suffering serious injuries when she was hit by a car while crossing a highway last Thursday night.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred at 11:40pm.<\/p>\n
Police reports indicated that 33-year-old male Zhou Su was traveling south on the outer lane of the 2W Highway in Gualo Rai in front of the Javili Store when he hit the victim, 26-year-old female Xue Jin Quan, with his champagne-colored 2001 Toyota Echo.<\/p>\n
According to Department of Public Safety public information officer Thomas A. Blas Jr., the victim was crossing the road, heading east toward the Hansae garment area. <\/p>\n
\u201cSomehow, as the victim entered the inner lane, she darted back into the outer lane and was struck by the southbound vehicle,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Traffic investigators reportedly indicated that the cause of the crash was due to the pedestrian\u2019s failure to cross at a designated crosswalk area. Other contributing factors included poor lighting at the area and lack of proper road markings.<\/p>\n
