{"id":81104,"date":"2004-05-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-05-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/9f5d5a60-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-05-17T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2004-05-17T00:00:00","slug":"9f5d5a71-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/9f5d5a71-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle hits pedestrian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pedestrian was admitted to the Commonwealth Health Center Intensive Care Unit after suffering serious injuries when she was hit by a car while crossing a highway last Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at 11:40pm.<\/p>\n<p>Police reports indicated that 33-year-old male Zhou Su was traveling south on the outer lane of the 2W Highway in Gualo Rai in front of the Javili Store when he hit the victim, 26-year-old female Xue Jin Quan, with his champagne-colored 2001 Toyota Echo.<\/p>\n<p>According to Department of Public Safety public information officer Thomas A. Blas Jr., the victim was crossing the road, heading east toward the Hansae garment area. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomehow, as the victim entered the inner lane, she darted back into the outer lane and was struck by the southbound vehicle,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic investigators reportedly indicated that the cause of the crash was due to the pedestrian\u2019s failure to cross at a designated crosswalk area.
