Nine days after raising pump prices, Mobil Oil raised its gasoline prices again by 5 cents effective yesterday\u2014the eighth time the fuel company has raised its gas prices this year. <\/p>\n
There was no immediate word if Shell has also raised its prices.<\/p>\n
This increase means that Mobil\u2019s full-service regular gasoline is now $2.639, while its self-service regular is now $2.429. Its full-service rate for super gasoline is now $2.729 per gallon, while its self-service super gasoline is now $2.529.<\/p>\n
This racks up the total price adjustments made by Mobil since the start of the year to 32 cents.<\/p>\n
In a statement sent to media offices, Mobil Oil Marianas Islands Inc. said it is increasing gasoline prices to its dealers and directly operated stations as a result of the continued higher product costs for gasoline in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe continued climb in crude oil prices, along with freight cost increases, supply concerns, and increasing demand continue to impact the cost of gasoline locally. As we identified earlier, a combination of global and regional factors have impacted the fuel prices locally,\u201d said Bernadette Valencia, retail manager of Mobil Oil Marianas Islands Inc.<\/p>\n
\u201cCrude oil prices have reached an all time high of $42 a barrel,\u201d Valencia added.<\/p>\n
She said that Mobil will continue to monitor product cost and pass on any savings it can to the consumers. \u201cWe continue to encourage our customers to keep their vehicles well maintained to help improve fuel efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mobil first increased pump prices by four cents a gallon in January, before increasing them again by 3 cents a gallon, matching Shell gas stations\u2019 pump price adjustment of 7 cents per gallon.<\/p>\n
Mobil later declared three 5-cent-increases beginning March 11. Another 5-cent-increase was declared last April 19. The most recent 5-cent-hike before yesterday\u2019s was on May 18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
