{"id":81667,"date":"2004-06-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-06-06T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/9fb4ddc1-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-06-06T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2004-06-06T00:00:00","slug":"9fb4ddd2-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/9fb4ddd2-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangladeshi sues over alleged labor violations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Bangladeshi worker has filed a federal lawsuit against a company over alleged labor violations, including nonpayment of rendered overtime work.<\/p>\n<p>Niranjan Niranjan asked the court for an award of damages to be assessed against Kanda International, Inc. and company executive Albert Lee.<\/p>\n<p>Niranjan\u2019s lawyer, Danilo T. Aguilar, claimed that his client rendered for the company 100 hours of work every two weeks.  He said the company failed to compensate Niranjan all overtime pays, although some overtime services had been paid.<\/p>\n<p>Aguilar said Niranjan began working for the company in 1997, when he was recruited to work in the CNMI pursuant to an employment contract approved by the CNMI\u2019s labor department.<\/p>\n<p>While working for the company for several years, Niranjan did not get his full wages on a biweekly basis, Aguilar said.
