An attorney formerly working for the Attorney General\u2019s Office has complained of sexual harassment against the CNMI\u2019s chief prosecutor, David Hutton.<\/p>\n
The female attorney, whose name is being withheld, has filed the complaint with the Office of Personnel Management.<\/p>\n
OPM director Juan I. Tenorio said yesterday that the complaint is still being investigated.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are investigating the allegation and we are not done,\u201d Tenorio said.<\/p>\n
Tenorio said he tasked Frank Gibson, the chief investigator for the CNMI\u2019s Equal Employment Opportunity program, to conduct the probe. He added that the findings of the investigation might be completed by Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Tenorio refused to comment when asked for details about the allegation that became the basis for the sexual harassment complaint, saying that it is \u201cpremature to discuss this because it\u2019s still under investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hutton refused to comment on the complaint. He said, however, that the female attorney last worked for the AGO on May 28. He refused to comment if the woman resigned or was terminated. The attorney had worked under Hutton, who heads the AGO\u2019s Criminal Division.<\/p>\n
Hutton added that the attorney had transferred to the AGO\u2019s Civil Division as early as mid-April.<\/p>\n
AG Pamela Brown gave terse comments when asked about the issue, saying that sexual harassment cases should be dealt with confidentiality, not one that should be discussed with the press.<\/p>\n
