Govendo on Friday imposed a $25,000 cash bail for the defendant&#8217;s temporary liberty.<\/p>\n<p>There was no testimony or allegations that the defendant sexually assaulted the girl, thus the charge is sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant was taken to court for Gerstein hearing on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Gerstein hearing is conducted when the arrest of a suspect is done without an arrest warrant. In this proceeding, the judge will determine if there is probable cause to continue to detain the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorney general Nicole Driscoll appeared for the government at the hearing.
