{"id":82459,"date":"2004-07-08T06:26:00","date_gmt":"2004-07-08T06:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/9fe146cd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-07-08T06:26:00","modified_gmt":"2004-07-08T06:26:00","slug":"9fe146de-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/9fe146de-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Women gold medal hopes still alive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI women\u2019s basketball team continued to blow hot and cold in the 2004 Micronesian Basketball Tournament at the University of Guam field house.<\/p>\n<p>A day after being drubbed by powerhouse Guam, 40-91, the girls of coach Donald Blondin kept their gold medal hopes alive yesterday after hurdling Pohnpei, 67-57.<\/p>\n<p>The CNMI women would now have to win their rematch against Palau this morning to advance to the gold medal round where they will probably again face Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Palau gave the CNMI a rude awakening on Monday, 74-44. The CNMI, however, bounced back with a victory over Chuuk Tuesday, 57-46, as the team\u2019s Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde routine continued.<\/p>\n<p>Guam currently leads the five-nation competition for the women with a spotless 3-0 mark, followed by Palau (2-1), the CNMI (2-2), and Pohnpei (1-3).
