It features activities such as go-karts, horseback riding, kayaking, golf, tennis, snorkeling, arts and crafts, swimming, soccer, computers and more.<\/p>\n<p>Camp facilities include three swimming pools, a snorkeling beach, dive pool, golf course, go-kart track, arts and crafts room, buffet lunch, baseball and soccer field.<\/p>\n<p>Keirsten Hess, a San Diego State University graduate and teaching veteran from Lake Tahoe, California, is the camp director.  She is back for her third year at Eco Camp.<\/p>\n<p>Marianas Trekking owner Chris Nelson, whose company manages Eco Camp, said one of the most exciting things about the camp is that children get to meet kids from Japan, Korea, Hawaii and various other countries or cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson noted that Eco Camp has eight counselors who speak Nihonggo, Korean, Filipino, Chamorro, Carolinian, Palauan or English.<\/p>\n<p>The activities are so varied that children never run out of interesting things to do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryday, their schedules are a little bit different.  But it\u2019s basically like going to school.  Only, instead of going from English to Math, the kids go from horseback riding to kayaking to golfing,\u201d Nelson said.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that the older kids like mountain biking and go-kart riding the most, while the smaller ones prefer golfing, swimming, and horseback riding.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson said he is looking forward to a good third session, and praying for better weather.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTyphoons are never any fun for kids,\u201d he said in jest.<\/p>\n<p>Eco Camp runs Monday through Friday in two-week sessions throughout the summer. Ages are from 4 to 13. Special features include a pick up service, and buffet lunch option.
