{"id":82605,"date":"2004-07-14T07:34:00","date_gmt":"2004-07-14T07:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/9fe3262a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-07-14T07:34:00","modified_gmt":"2004-07-14T07:34:00","slug":"9fe3263d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/9fe3263d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Plane pull\u2019 event garners 10 participating teams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ten teams have already confirmed participation in the \u201cPlane Pull\u201d event, where they will try to pull a Continental 737 across the tarmac at the Saipan International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross, along with co- sponsors Continental Airlines and the Commonwealth Ports Authority Employee Association, said in a statement that are already excited in the run-up to the event itself. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe already have 10 confirmed teams for the event and hope to have another five or more,\u201d said John Hirsh, executive director of the NMI Chapter. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPlane Pull\u201d will be an event where teams in groups of 20 will compete to pull a Continental 737 for 12 feet in the fastest time. Teams will receive free t-shirts and a chance to win several trophies and prizes. <\/p>\n<p>Teams that have already signed up include DFS-Saipan, FedEx, IT&#038;E, Saipan Bankers Association, Herman\u2019s Modern Bakery, Team Tan Holdings, Rota Terminal &#038; Transfer and Rota Trading Co.<\/p>\n<p>Any interested company or group of friends who would like to compete should call 234-3459 for more information.
