{"id":8275,"date":"2012-04-17T00:58:14","date_gmt":"2012-04-17T00:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=8275"},"modified":"2012-04-17T00:58:14","modified_gmt":"2012-04-17T00:58:14","slug":"nmc-crees-hosts-free-aquaculture-presentations-on-saipan-and-rota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/nmc-crees-hosts-free-aquaculture-presentations-on-saipan-and-rota\/","title":{"rendered":"NMC-CREES hosts free aquaculture presentations on Saipan and Rota"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service is inviting members of the community to attend free presentations about aquaculture on Saipan and Rota.<\/p>\n<p>The first presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 25, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm in Room D-1 at the NMC As Terlaje campus on Saipan. The next presentation will take place on Friday, April 27, from 1pm to 4pm in the NMC-CREES Building at the NMC Rota Instructional Site.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Benny Ron, aquaculture program coordinator from the University of Hawaii, will present information on food security and appropriate aquaculture systems. In addition, Ron will introduce participants to UH&#8217;s Aquaculture Training On-line Learning, or ATOLL program, and the worldwide AquacultureHub social network.<\/p>\n<p>The ATOLL program is a training program designed to help individuals start their own fish farms by providing online educational instruction, resources and support.
