Those in the technician class, who want to be upgraded, must bring an original and one photocopy of their FCC license and any applicable CSCEs.<\/p>\n<p>A valid ID will also be required. If you do not have a photo ID, bring two ID forms at least one of which shows your current mailing address. The 2004 exam fee is $12 for all examinees.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently three different written and one telegraphy (Morse code) examinations. The (multiple-choice) written examinations are Elements 2 (Technician), Elements 3 (General), and Elements 4 (Extra Class.). The requirement for the beginning Technician Class license is passing the 35-question exam Element 2. An examinee passes a multiple-choice written exam if he or she answers 75 percent of the questions correctly. The higher class licenses no longer require Morse code receiving proficiency at 13 or 20 words-per-minute.<\/p>\n<p>The exam session will be administered by VEs under the W5YI Volunteer Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>VEs wanting to assist in the exams should bring their VE IDs.
