Ada Gymnasium.

Former national player Paul Magcalas was his usual scholarly best and led Makos to the easy win with 27 points. Former swimmer Quincy Johnson is also having plenty of success out of the water contributing 20 points in the win.

IVYBL scoring champ Preston Basa and Jake Maratita led 69ers II’s losing cause with 22 and 11 points, respectively.

Rotary league officials said the first game between Garapan Rollers III and powerhouse 69ers I was rescheduled.

Action resumed the next day, Aug. 3, with darkhorse Garapan Rollers I nipping defending champion Verizon Ol’Aces 74-69 in the opener.

Ol’Aces took the early initiative with Jeff Deleon Guerrero leading the charge. But G-Rollers I, with Pete Iguel on the firing end, chipped at the spread little by little and then turned the tables on Ol’Aces in the second to take the game.

Iguel paced all scorers with 22, while Bill Kaipat pumped in 20. Deleon Guerrero and MIBT vet Leroy Kani were the top scorers for Ol’Aces with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

It was the fourth straight victory for G-Rollers I, which is composed mostly of players from the IVYBL champion team baring the same name.

In the nightcap, Sparks were all over Garapan Rollers II recording a decisive 50-32 triumph.

After taking the half by 8 points, Sparks strapped on the rocket pack in the second to win the game running away. Benjamin Jones punched in 12 in the win, while Phillip Cequena collected 9 in the loss.

On Wednesday, Sixers I rolled to their third win in as many games after recording a 124-37 king-size rout of Garapan Rollers III.

It was mostly shooting practice for UFO mainstays Julian Ranas, Brian Flores, and Kevin Cequena, as the terrible trio combined to score more than half of the team’s total output.

No player from G-Rollers III finished in double figures with Nate Matteo coming a point shy with 9 points.

The first game between the C.K.
