This time, Shirley’s Susan Macario said the new branch would offer cappuccino and other unique coffee mixes similar to those offered in other coffee shops.

At Shirley’s, however, these items would be offered at affordable prices for which the restaurant has been known for. For just $1.50, one can enjoy refillable cup of brewed coffee at Shirley’s.

“We received a lot of request for other branches on different parts of Saipan, including Capitol Hill and Kagman,” Macario said. The Susupe branch, which would be located on a 3,500-square-foot space across the Mt. Carmel Cathedral, would make the restaurant more accessible from southern Saipan, she added.

Once the Susupe branch opens its doors to customers, Macario said patrons would have more choices, as the outlet would have state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. From Aug. 28-30, representatives from Shirley’s would go to Los Angeles to attend a trade show on the latest kitchen equipment. The Susupe outlet would also offer desserts such as ice cream, Macario said.

The Susupe outlet’s space can accommodate up to 150 guests at one time, more than double the capacity of the first two branches. Macario said the restaurant would also be suitable for formal or informal functions.

Shirley’s has achieved its highest sales so far this year since the first branch was put up on Middle Road, Chalan Laulau in May 1993. Dynamic Core Group Inc. gave birth to another Shirley’s branch in Sept. 1997 at the ground floor of the Century Hotel in Garapan. Saipan’s Shirley’s restaurants are franchises of Guam’s Shirley’s Coffee Shop owned by businesswoman Shirley Wai.

“Many people hang out here. It doesn’t matter if customers order just a cup of coffee for the whole day,” Macario said. In terms of loyalty, she said Shirley’s has “the best customers on the island.”

Besides Shirley’s cozy ambiance, the restaurant highly regards the importance of customer service, serving food orders fast and in a friendly manner, even for take-out orders.

Most popular on the Shirley’s menu is the fried rice. While any fried rice could have sprinkles of diced ham, slices of carrots, onions and shredded scrambled eggs, Shirley’s version has that extra-special taste that makes for habitual customers.

The fried rice is perfectly teamed up with a variety of omelet preparations, including the Shirley’s Special Omelet—a blend of shrimp, ham, bacon, bell pepper, onions, eggs and other flavorful ingredients.

Those who love to eat fish have choices from Fried Mahi-Mahi Fish Cutlet, to Grilled Butter Mahi-Mahi Fish Fillet, Grilled Alaska Salmon Fish Fillet, and the U.S. Choice New York Steak with Mahi-Mahi, among others. Sweet-and-sour pork, fish, and chicken are also favorites at Shirley’s. The restaurant also offers variations of chopsuey, broccoli, tao si, curry cashew, and mushrooms in beef, chicken, and shrimp combinations.

With its growing number of loyal patrons, Shirley’s Coffee Shop is now working on the opening of a new and bigger branch in Susupe to accommodate more guests for the restaurant known for its fried rice.

[4

post-83413","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
