Therefore, the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is advising the general public to boil the water prior to consumption.<\/p>\n<p>If boiling is impractical due to lack of electrical power, water can be purified by adding a small amount of household bleach, such as Clorox or Purex, using the following dosage:<\/p>\n<p>Container size: Amount of bleach<br \/>\n1 gallon: 5 drops<br \/>\n5 gallons: 20 drops<br \/>\n55 gallons: 1 teaspoon<br \/>\n100 gallons: 2 teaspoons<br \/>\n500 gallons: 2 tablespoons<br \/>\n1000 gallons: 4 tablespoons<\/p>\n<p>Allow the water to stand in a covered container for at least 30 minutes before using.  Lastly, if the abovementioned is not desired or not possible, bottled water are available at your convenient stores.
