{"id":84053,"date":"2004-09-16T03:17:00","date_gmt":"2004-09-16T03:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a08f2f3f-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-09-16T03:17:00","modified_gmt":"2004-09-16T03:17:00","slug":"a08f2f58-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a08f2f58-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Saipan Lions Club launches recycling project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Fil-American Lions Club has introduced a recycling program for the community. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to inform and educate all members of the community to start separation of our trash in a more efficient way to protect the environment for generations to come,\u201d the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Toward this end, the club said it set up a total of 15 colorful drums in five locations along Saipan\u2019s beaches\u2014Kilili Beach, Civic Center, 13 Fishermen\u2019s Monument, San Jose and Pau Pau Beach\u2014last Sept. 12. Each location has three drums and has been color-coded and marked with the color green for paper, yellow for plastic, glass and bottles, and blue for cans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to thanks Mr. Tony Benavente, chief administrator of Division of Parks and Recreation, DLNR and Gov. Juan N.
