{"id":86107,"date":"2004-12-02T04:49:00","date_gmt":"2004-12-02T04:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a18a391b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-12-02T04:49:00","modified_gmt":"2004-12-02T04:49:00","slug":"a18a3c48-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a18a3c48-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"House of Manhoben gives back to community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Youths currently involved with activities at the House of Manhoben recently contributed to efforts to keep the island clean.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 youths, their families, and House of Manhoben staff gathered Saturday morning at the Coral Ocean Point beach and cleaned the area, picking trash and debris. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Beach Cleanup is one of the projects on the youth\u2019s list to contribute to our community,\u201d said program coordinator Dolores Taman. <\/p>\n<p>The group chose the site after being assisted by Coral Ocean Point Resort during its summer swimming program. Taman said the resort allowed them to use the pool, which the kids used during the program.<\/p>\n<p>In all, over 100 children are registered at the House of Manhoben, which provides kids with a venue to explore positive activities.<\/p>\n<p>Children benefit from free tutoring services, a well as other activities including canoeing and swimming. The center is also equipped with several computers, a big screen television, a billiards table, table tennis equipment, and more.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThis is all for the youth,\u201d Taman said. \u201cIt\u2019s a place for them to keep busy doing positive things instead of roaming the streets and getting into trouble, so I encourage parents to come in and register their kids.
