{"id":86120,"date":"2004-12-02T05:56:00","date_gmt":"2004-12-02T05:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a18a4b81-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-12-02T05:56:00","modified_gmt":"2004-12-02T05:56:00","slug":"a18a4b92-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a18a4b92-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"CNMI car dealers sell nearly 1,500 vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth\u2019s auto dealers have sold close to 1,500 vehicles from January to November this year, surpassing last year\u2019s sales by about 335 units.<\/p>\n<p>Year-to-date figures released by the Commonwealth Auto Dealers Association showed most auto brands increasing in sales except for Ford and Kia, the sales of which dropped by approximately 16 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The auto dealership industry slightly slowed down in November compared with the same month last year, with this year\u2019s sales totaling only 106 units, about 20.90 percent lower than November 2003\u2019s 134 total.<\/p>\n<p>Last month\u2019s decline came about due to the low sales turnout for certain brands such Ford, Kia, Honda, and Mitsubishi. Joeten Motors only sold four units each of Ford and Honda, much lower than November 2003\u2019s sales of 18 and 19 units, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>During the same month last year, Joeten and Triple J Motors sold 11 units each of Kia and Mitsubishi vehicles. Last month, Kia and Mitsubishi\u2019s sales dropped to two and five, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>However, the 1,477-total units sold from January to November significantly increased from the 1,142 total recorded by the CADA for the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota remains the top-selling brand, with its 697 sales jumping from last year\u2019s 469. Nissan follows next with 206 units, and then Mazda and Mitsubishi, 150 and 114 units.<\/p>\n<p>CADA statistics showed the total sales of Honda, Kia and Ford brands close at 82, 78 and 76, respectively.
