Several media representatives from China recently visited the CNMI to check out the destination in anticipation of the Approved Destination Status being signed this month between the Commonwealth and Beijing.<\/p>\n
The Marianas Visitors Authority said the Beijing and Shanghai media visited the Northern Marianas\u2014Saipan, Tinian, and Rota\u2014from Nov. 30 through Dec. 4, 2004, on a familiarization tour of the islands. <\/p>\n
The FAM group consisted of seven media outlets from Beijing and Shanghai and one MVA Shanghai representative. During their visit, they conducted site inspections at hotels, spas, and marine activities on all three islands. The media coverage will feature the islands\u2019 scenic attraction, spa, and marine activities.<\/p>\n
Even with their busy itinerary, the media group still managed a courtesy visit with MVA acting managing director Martin F. Duenas, during which they commented on their experiences and feelings about the destination. <\/p>\n
Hu Xin of Travel Times commented that, \u201cHere we can review the history; here we can dream the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other comments include \u201cCordial host, bright sun and crystal water\u2014it is a memorable trip to the beautiful Saipan, Tinian, and Rota,\u201d said National Geographic Traveler associate director Zhang Nianjun. <\/p>\n
\u201cWish more and more Chinese tourists could experience Saipan\u2019s beauty like me,\u201d said Life Style Beijing editor Wei Jingna. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe three islands\u2014three pieces of natural aquamarine in the South Pacific,\u201d said ELLE feature reporter Penny Sang. <\/p>\n
\u201cSaipan, Tinian, and Rota\u2014three natural islands with picturesque seascape and fresh air\u2014must be the first choice to Chinese tourists,\u201d said Madame Figaro circulation director Wen Lihong. <\/p>\n
