The Japan Saipan Travel Association had their yearend beach cleanup on Dec. 11 at Micro Beach between the 13 Fishermen Memorial and Puerto Rico pathway. <\/p>\n
Approximately 50 members from JSTA, the Hotel Association of Northern Marianas, the Northern Marianas Operations Diving Association, Japanese Society and MVA participated in the cleanup. <\/p>\n
Lunch hosted by JSTA followed after the event. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt is very important that we maintain beautiful beaches for tourists as we are expecting a lot of tourists for Christmas and New Year\u2019s vacation period and we hope that they will enjoy our beaches and have a memorable trip,\u201d said JSTA president Osawa. <\/p>\n
In July this year, a total 100 participants joined JSTA in cleaning up the beach pathway from Garapan to Susupe. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe CNMI is fortunate to have associations such as JSTA that is very involved and a strong advocate about keeping our island beautiful. We need these types of community effort to send a positive message out to the community.
