Ada Gymnasium.

At 6-0, Pikan Gaga has been cruising through all of their competition, and their match with Bootylicious was no different. Led by Connie Camacho, they sit atop the seven-team league with the only unmarred record, but they have a pair of teams in their rear-view mirror.

The Gaga girls return to action tomorrow night when they take on the winless T-8 (0-3). Bootylicious will look for redemption when they face the Hitters after the Christmas break on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 6:30.

One of the teams that is hot on the trail of Pikan Gaga is the Dragons (4-1), who knocked off T-8 in two sets, 25-17 and 25-15. Aleta Glaze and the Dragons have been dominating in their own right, but they are still a game off the pace.

Glaze has been racking up more aces than a Vegas poker hound, and more kills than a backwoods trapper en route to second place, and she looks to lead her young team to their next victory on Tuesday, Dec. 28 when they challenge the She Devils (3-1) at 7:30p.

On the men’s side of the courts, No Fear (3-1) scalped the Managaha Chiefs (3-1) to give them their first loss of the season. Gabriel White and company took the first set from the then undefeated Chiefs 25-22 in some of the most exciting action to date.

Led by Andrew Ortega, the Chiefs rallied back to take the second set 25-21, and force a third set race to 15 points. As close as the first two sets were, the third set was looking to be a thriller, but it shaped up to be a one-sided 15-4 victory for No Fear.

No Fear is now tied for second place with the Chiefs, and both squads return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 28, when the Chiefs face the Proa (2-2) at 6:30p and No Fear challenges the Floaters (0-4) at 7:30pm.

The same Proa team faced the Chuukanos (1-3) in the late game and handed them their third loss of the season. J-Luck Takoichy and the Chuukanos lead off the game with a 25-21 advantage in the first set before Gino Libuw recorded five kills to even the set count at one apiece.

Libuw returned to lead his team in the third set with four kills in the 15-12 clincher.

The Chuukanos will have to wait until next year to get their revenge, as they don’t return to the Ada Gym until Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 6:30p when they face the Ol’ Aces.

Pikan Gaga continued their run at a perfect season last Thursday when they swept Bootylicious in straight sets, 25-14 and 25-13, in the Island Wide Volleyball League for men and women at the Gilbert C.
