Beach volleyball players will get a chance to burn extra pounds they put on during the recent holiday binge on the first Sunday of the New Year.<\/p>\n
The 6th Annual Club Elan Christmas Volleyball Classic kicks off on Jan. 2, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan sand court.<\/p>\n
The tournament is being organized by Club Elan and sponsored by Pacific Trading Co. and Miller Lite.<\/p>\n
Action gets underway at 9:30am following the 9am registration\u2014there\u2019s no pre-registration requirement. Cost of entry is $15 per persons with members of the Northern Marianas Islands Volleyball Association getting a $5 discount.<\/p>\n
Club Elan, PTC, and Miller Lite have prepared cash and in-kind prizes for the top teams of the Christmas Volleyball Classic.<\/p>\n
Participants of the tournament also get free access to the Club Elan Spa and Fitness Centre in the duration of the competition. They also get a 20 percent discount on food and beverages at both Splash and Skipper’s beachside bar, and 30-40 percent discounts on massages for the day.<\/p>\n
Club Elan manager Faheem Ebrahim said that a portion of the proceeds from the tournament would go towards NMIVA’s efforts to send a team to the South Pacific Mini Games next July.<\/p>\n
