{"id":86784,"date":"2004-12-29T02:56:00","date_gmt":"2004-12-29T02:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a1d0f45a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2004-12-29T02:56:00","modified_gmt":"2004-12-29T02:56:00","slug":"a1d0f46b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a1d0f46b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Cross offers free disaster training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Marconi Calindas<br \/>\nReporter<\/p>\n<p>The American Red Cross NMI Chapter said it will be offering training opportunities to volunteers or residents of Saipan, in line with teaching the public on how to prevent, prepare, and respond to any emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>Red Cross disaster relief courses focus on \u201cmeeting people\u2019s immediate emergency needs.\u201d The Red Cross provides food, clothing, household supplies, and counseling, among others, to assist those who are in need to revert them quickly back to their normal lives.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Red Cross invites volunteers \u201cto meet the needs of disaster affected communities. \u201dOur community needs you,\u201d the Red Cross said.<\/p>\n<p>The training sessions are free of charge and are open to all residents or nonresidents. Introduction to Disaster Services Course will be conducted on Jan. 11, 2005, Disaster Assessment Course will be on Jan. 13, 2005 and Family Services: Providing Emergency Assistance will be on Jan. 18 and 20, 2005.
