NMASA, BANMI MONTHLY THIS WEEK<\/p>\n
The Northern Marianas Amateur Sports Association and the Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Island will have their respective monthly meetings this week.<\/p>\n
The governing sports body of the CNMI will conduct its meeting on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, beginning 7:30pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.<\/p>\n
All board members of NMASA are required to attend the meeting. Sports associations sending athletes to the Palau 2005 South Pacific Mini Games must also send a representative to the meeting. Partial payment for airline tickets and per diem for sports associations and athletes going to Palau are due at this date.<\/p>\n
Nominees for December athletes and student athletes of the month would also be decided. NMASA also announced that board would be taking a vote on who will be enshrined in the NMASA Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
BANMI, meanwhile, would have its meeting today, Jan. 4, 2005, also at the Ada Gym conference room starting at 6:30pm. Topics to be discussed in the agenda are the wrinkles in the ongoing 2004 Government Basketball League and updates about the 35-and-over Masters Basketball League and 25-and-under Basketball League.<\/p>\n

NMI CRIME STOPPERS SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL THIS WEEK<\/p>\n
The 3rd Annual NMI Crime Stoppers Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will run through Thursday, Jan. 7 to Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Oleai Sports Complex softball field.<\/p>\n
The champion of the three-day softball event pockets $300, while second place and third place takes home $200 and $150, respectively.<\/p>\n
Aside from the regular softball competition, the tournament will also host two categories of homerun derbies.<\/p>\n
Entry cost per team is $250, and the cost to enter the homerun derbies is $20 per individual. All checks should be made out to NMI Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n
