Shell gas stations on Saipan rolled back pump prices anew by up to 7 cents a gallon effective last midnight.<\/p>\n
Shell Marianas president Phil Stalker attributed the rollback mainly to reduced cost of refined product.<\/p>\n
\u201cDue to the easing of the worldwide price of oil, and more importantly a lowering of the cost of refined product, we are pleased to announce that we have once again lowered the price of our [pump prices],\u201d Stalker said. \u201cAs we have repeatedly committed, as the price of product is reduced, we will pass on savings to our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shell reduced gallon prices of regular gasoline and diesel by 7 cents, and that of premium gasoline by 5 cents.<\/p>\n
Before the rollback, regular and premium gasoline prices were at $2.689 and $2.789, respectively, at full-serve rate. The gallon price of diesel was at $2.749, while self-serve rates of regular and premium gasoline were at $2.559 and $2.669.<\/p>\n
The new price adjustment would make the gallon prices of regular and premium gasoline $2.619 and $2.739 at full-serve rate, while the price of diesel will be $2.679 per gallon. Self serve-rates for regular and premium gasoline are now $2.489 and $2.619 per gallon.<\/p>\n
Shell has implemented at least four fuel price rollbacks since November last year after a series of price increases that pushed up pump prices to nearly $3 per gallon.<\/p>\n
Shell first rolled back pump prices by up to 5 cents a gallon sometime last November after successive increases in fuel prices during the year. In December, Shell lowered its prices twice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
