Hardt, was conducted before the Class D-105 (Grade 5) of Ben Matagolai and Paul Salalila, comprising about 50 children.<\/p>\n<p>Through a variety of slides that showed multiple injuries and diseases of the eye, Hardt impressed upon the children the importance of eye safety.<\/p>\n<p>It was learned during the presentation that most eye injuries occur before the age of 25, mostly due to sports injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost eye problems can be corrected if they are detected and treated early. Appropriate eye care is essential for maintaining good vision. Some problems, if left untreated\u2014even for a short period\u2014can result in permanent vision loss,\u201d Hardt said.<\/p>\n<p>The children were very attentive during the hour-long presentation and showed their inquisitiveness and interest by asking many questions.
