I hope that this inspires the younger generation to work hard at whatever they choose to do,\u201d Benavente said.<\/p>\n<p>Benavente served as deputy managing director from 1998 until her appointment as head of MVA last year.<\/p>\n<p>She started working for the tourism agency as a management intern and marketing assistant under then Marianas Visitors Bureau in 1988. She brings with her years of experience in the field of tourism and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n<p>She also worked at the Hyatt Regency Saipan as an assistant front office manager for three years. Aside from her vast experience in the tourism industry, she also operated and managed a family business for over 17 years.<\/p>\n<p>Benavente currently sits on various boards, such as the Marianas Education Tourism Council, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Heart of the Marianas, and the Saipan Fishermen\u2019s Association.<\/p>\n<p>She received her education from the College of Southern Idaho and the University of South Carolina, Columbia. She is married to Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente and they have four children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur company\u2019s goal is to deliver our members the recognition, support and credibility giving them the competitive edge needed to succeed,\u201d according to Manchester Who\u2019s Who.
