Auto dealers sold 1,612 new vehicles in 2004, 346 units more than the preceding year\u2019s total of 1,266.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s sales ended with an 8.87-percent growth in December sales that showed 135 new vehicles sold, surpassing December 2003\u2019s mark of 124 units sold.<\/p>\n
Toyota maintains its leadership in the industry, with sales reaching 760 units in 2004. Toyota\u2019s sales made its dealer, Microl Corp., the leading auto dealer in the Commonwealth in terms of sales.<\/p>\n
Nissan is the next highest-selling brand last year, with Joeten Motors closing the deal on 228 Nissan units in 2004.<\/p>\n
Mazda and Mitsubishi ranked third and fourth, respectively, in terms of sales, as Triple J Motors sold 160 and 120 units of the makes last year.<\/p>\n
The four top-selling cars in the CNMI all had increased sales in 2004 than the preceding year, except for Mitsubishi, which had 120 units sold for both years. Those brands maintained their standing as the top-selling vehicles on the islands, even in 2003.<\/p>\n
Toyota\u2019s 760-total for 2004 surpassed 2003\u2019s 515 units by 245, a high increase of 47.57-percent in last year\u2019s sales; Nissan\u2019s sales increased from 2003\u2019s 156 units by 72, reflecting a growth of 46.15-percent.<\/p>\n
