A new Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop outlet with a bigger seating capacity and more modern equipment will soon open its doors across the Mt. Carmel Church in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s, known for its delectable fried rice, now has three outlets on Saipan\u2014Garapan, which is located at the ground floor of the Century Hotel; Middle Road, Chalan Laulau; and the new Chalan Kanoa outlet, which will become the restaurant\u2019s main branch on Saipan.<\/p>\n
Standing on a 3,500-square-foot-commercial space, the Chalan Kanoa outlet can accommodate at least 150 persons at one time and has separate smoking and non-smoking areas. The wide space makes the new outlet suitable for all-occasion functions.<\/p>\n
Domingo C. Palon, vice president and general manager of Reliance Construction Inc. that designed the restaurant\u2019s interior, said the new outlet is very modern, with its U.S.-made furniture and Italian tiles from Hong Kong, and is wireless networking-friendly. Palon said the restaurant is equipped with modern lighting system that can be adjusted for flexible ambiance.<\/p>\n
The outlet has one of the biggest and most modern kitchens in the CNMI, according to Palon. The 880-sq. ft. kitchen is equipped with state-of-the-art culinary equipment, he said.<\/p>\n
The new outlet will serve a new variety of food, drinks, and desserts on top of the original Shirley\u2019s menu. Like the first two outlets in Chalan Laulau and Garapan, the soon-to-open Susupe restaurant will be good for hanging out, according to Shirley\u2019s manager Susan Macario. The new outlet will offer an array of coffee mixes.<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s has achieved its highest sales so far this year since the first branch was put up on Middle Road, Chalan Laulau in May 1993. Dynamic Core Group, Inc. gave birth to another Shirley\u2019s branch in Sept. 1997 at the ground floor of the Century Hotel in Garapan. Saipan\u2019s Shirley\u2019s restaurants are franchised from Guam\u2019s Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop owned by businesswoman Shirley Wai.<\/p>\n
Besides Shirley\u2019s cozy ambiance, the restaurant highly regards the importance of customer service, serving food orders fast and friendly, even for take-out orders.<\/p>\n
The most popular fare at Shirley\u2019s is the fried rice. While anyone can whip up fried rice with diced ham, slices of carrots, onions and shredded scrambled eggs, Shirley’s version has that unique taste that makes for habitual customers.<\/p>\n
The fried rice is perfectly teamed up with a variety of omelet preparations, including the Shirley\u2019s Special Omelet\u2014a blend of shrimp, ham, bacon, bell pepper, onions, eggs and other flavorful ingredients.<\/p>\n
Those who love to eat fish can have their choice of Fried Mahi-Mahi Fish Cutlet, Grilled Butter Mahi-mahi Fish Fillet, Grilled Alaska Salmon Fish Fillet, and the U.S. Choice New York Steak with Mahi-Mahi, among others. Sweet-and-sour pork, fish, and chicken are also favorites at Shirley\u2019s.
