This year’s insurance open enrollment period has boosted the number of man’amko who are enrolled in the Medicare Part D drug plan, according to a statement issued by Brabu Pharmacy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have processed 125 new applications, 99 of which have already been approved,\u201d said Raena Celis, Brabu Pharmacy’s customer service specialist. \u201cWe couldn’t be happier knowing that so many of our man’amko have been successfully enrolled.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brabu co-owner Ted Parker credited the media for the success of this enrollment period through great coverage and public service announcements.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople showed up in record numbers, many telling us about the difficulties they experienced both on the phone to United Health Care, the AARP MedicareRx plan providers and online. Once we were directed to the www.medicare.gov website by Congressman Killili’s office, the applications could be completed easily in minutes,\u201d Parker said.<\/p>\n
The number of new CNMI enrollees this year will increase UHC membership by over 100 percent.<\/p>\n
Prior to this enrollment period, Chad Szczepanskie, UHC sales and marketing manager, reported that their company had only 100 active members in the region since Part D was offered in 2006.<\/p>\n
Brabu co-owner, Kathy Yuknavage alerted UHC of the difficulties being experienced by man’amko wishing to avail of the insurance program. Sales distribution compliance manager R. Chris Krafft wrote back stating, \u201cWe have investigated and determined that the telephone number was routed incorrectly.\u201d UHC has since corrected the phone system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that next year’s enrollment will be much easier for everyone,\u201d said Yuknavage. \u201cWhat a great way to start the Christmas season. It’s been really wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n
In any event, Celis pledged to continue providing assistance next enrollment period.<\/p>\n
