Valentine\u2019s Day is still two weeks away, but one of the CNMI\u2019s prominent flower shops, Design Florist, has already begun preparations for the expected surge in demand for their products.<\/p>\n
Veteran florist Rommel Yanto advised customers that they could place orders in advance so they won\u2019t be caught up in the rush when the day of hearts approaches.<\/p>\n
Design Florist capitalizes on the expertise of its florists to make unique floral arrangements.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can give what the customers want,\u201d Yanto said.<\/p>\n
Yanto, who has had almost two decades of experience in the flower arrangement business, has been a fixture at several social events in the Northern Marianas, including weddings, displaying his skills in the art of floral arrangement.<\/p>\n
Yanto began working for a flower shop in Quiapo, Manila, where the Philippines\u2019 oldest flower shops are located. He joined Saipan\u2019s Design Florist when it opened its doors to customers in 1996.<\/p>\n
His fellow florist at the company, Amiel Dolom, has had about a decade of experience in the business.<\/p>\n
\u201cFlowers can uplift one\u2019s mood and spirit,\u201d Yanto said. \u201cSometimes, flowers speak louder than words.\u201d<\/p>\n
This coming Valentine\u2019s Day, Yanto urged anyone to express their feelings through flowers. Besides offering roses, the company also has carnations, lilies, chrysanthemums, and gladiolas for the occasion.<\/p>\n
Design Florist also offers an array of gift items such as stuffed toys, wine, baskets, balloons, figurines, and handicrafts, among others.<\/p>\n
Businessman Frank Cabrera owns Design Florist, which is located at the Cabrera Center on Beach Road, Garapan.<\/p>\n
