The Beefeater Gin and Malibu Rum Challenge is set gather the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of bartenders from eight hotels on May 21 at the American Memorial Park, Bell Tower Field.<\/p>\n
Organized by the Northern Marianas Bartenders Association and sponsored by MARPAC and the Marianas Visitors Authority, the event will start at 7pm.<\/p>\n
The winning cocktail must comply with this year\u2019s theme \u201cThe Marianas.\u201d The competition\u2019s criteria also tilt heavily toward the use of local ingredients.<\/p>\n
Organizers have also disallowed the use of concocted ingredients such as ice cream, chocolate syrup, and others.<\/p>\n
All recipes must also include Beefeater Gin for the main competition, and for the Best in Taste category, Malibu rum must be used as the base ingredient of the drink.<\/p>\n
The bartender with the winning drink will take home $200 plus trophy and medals. Best in Show and Best in Taste will win $100 each. The top three scores in the Malibu Rum Challenge, meanwhile, will pocket $100 each.<\/p>\n
Bartenders invited to the competition would hail from Marianas Resort and Spa, Saipan Grand Hotel, Pacific Islands Club, Aqua Resort Club, World Resort Saipan, Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Hafa Adai Hotel, and Abyss Bar.<\/p>\n
