{"id":91898,"date":"2005-07-06T06:12:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-06T06:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a3f4c05e-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2005-07-06T06:12:00","modified_gmt":"2005-07-06T06:12:00","slug":"a3f4c072-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a3f4c072-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Store loses $250K to burglars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some $250,000 in cash was stolen from a Chalan Laulau store\u2014this year\u2019s biggest heist so far among a string of burglary and theft cases that have hit the island in the last few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric David said employees of the Hailan Market, located on Middle Road across the TransAmerica hardware, discovered the cash missing from the store\u2019s safe Tuesday morning, the day after the Liberation Day holiday celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>David said the store is equipped with security cameras, but the equipment\u2019s wires have been cut. He said the cameras\u2019 recording showed that they were working until 11:20pm Monday. The recording reportedly did not show any suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The Thief Apprehension Select Coalition has taken over the case for further investigation. No suspect has been identified yet.<\/p>\n<p>David said Wang Fen Fu, store control clerk, discovered the cash missing from the safe during the early office hours of Tuesday. Wang had gone inside his office to validate cash collections when he noticed that the money he had placed inside the safe Monday night was missing.<\/p>\n<p>Wang then informed the store\u2019s assistant manager, a certain Ms. Yin, about the loss.
