The CNMI Junior League All-Stars have one chance left to return home with a notch in the win column today as they suffered their worst defeat of the Junior League World Series against the Curundu Junior Leaguers of Panama City, Panama, 8-2.<\/p>\n
Back-to-back heartbreaking losses at Heritage Park appeared to have taken their toll on the boys from Saipan as they fell to 0-3 at the hands of the Latin Americans. This year\u2019s trip to Taylor, Michigan looked so promising with the 5-0 finish in the Asia-Pacific Regional Tournament, but a pair of losses by a combined three runs eventually wore the squad down.<\/p>\n
The loss also officially eliminated the boys from the Series contention as the Hermanos Cruz Juniors from Arroyo, Puerto Rico crushed the Rotterdam\/Rijnmond Juniors of Rotterdam, Netherlands, 15-2. The Rotterdam squad fell to 0-2, and has been outscored by their opponents by a combined 25-3 in their first two outings.<\/p>\n
The CNMI will next face the Europeans at 4am Saipan local time.<\/p>\n
The Panamanians are now 1-1 with the win and will face Canada for a chance to pull even with the Orleans Junior Leaguers from Ottawa.
