Police had said that Santos mauled the victim after a vehicular collision, leaving the victim injured and unconscious. The victim, whose identity police did not disclose, died several days later at the hospital.

Moots said Rogopes made a false police report to conceal Santos’ involvement in that fatal mauling. He said AGIU operatives arrested Rogopes pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Superior Court.

Efforts to obtain other details regarding the case against Rogopes proved futile at press time, since the court’s docket reflected no criminal case being filed against Rogopes recently. But a news report aired over KMCV News said the AGO filed with the court the criminal information against Rogopes yesterday afternoon.
