Heinz S. Hofschneider accused the Babauta administration yesterday of threatening employees with job loss if they don\u2019t actively support the \u201cBB ticket\u201d for re-election<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Hofschneider said that an increasing number of reports reaching his camp suggest that the Babauta administration is resorting to this tactic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a first in the history of the CNMI,\u201d Hofschneider said, \u201cBut it is illegal and unethical and shouldn\u2019t be tolerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hofschneider said that he would call for an investigation if he thought there was any possibility that it would be carried out under the present administration, only days before the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy best advice for those who are suffering under this pressure is to report the infraction to the Office of the Public Auditor and if you are unwilling or unable to do so, hang on for now and vote for the ticket of your choice in the privacy of the voting booth,\u201d Hofschneider said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey may get away with this abuse of office for now, but our Hofschneider-Apatang ticket has made transparency and following the rules part of our political platform and applying this sort of crude political heat to employees wouldn\u2019t be acceptable to us.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Independent candidate for governor Rep.
