Gov.-elect Timothy Villagomez, an official of the transition team disclosed to the Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>The transition official, who requested anonymity, said that Fleming was strongly recommended to the position and would likely get the nod from Fitial and Villagomez.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted by the Saipan Tribune for comment yesterday, the former BOE chair and member admitted she heard about her possible appointment to the SA position.<\/p>\n<p>Fleming, however, stated that, as of yesterday, she could not confirm it, considering that there are also other \u201ccontenders\u201d and that the final say will be with Fitial and Villagomez.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if she is going to accept the position if offered to her, Fleming responded, \u201cI have to look at it and consider what\u2019s for me\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fleming is the vice-chair of the inauguration committee chaired by Villagomez\u2019s brother, former public health secretary Joseph Kevin Villagomez.<\/p>\n<p>Fleming was a member of the 3rd Constitutional Convention.
