A man accused his girlfriend of sleeping with another man then brought her to the bathroom where he inspected her body \u201cfor evidence of having sex,\u201d according to court papers.<\/p>\n
An argument between the two ensued that led to domestic violence, police said.<\/p>\n
Cookson Ham, 21, was arrested for two counts of assault and one count of disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n
The Superior Court yesterday imposed a $1,000 cash bail for Ham\u2019s temporary release.<\/p>\n
Detective Andrea Ozawa stated in her report that the woman called the Department of Public Safety on Thursday shortly before noon, saying her boyfriend left the house in Navy Hill carrying with him their three-month-old baby.<\/p>\n
Ozawa said the victim stated that while they were in Ham\u2019s house, the defendant accused her of having a sexual relationship with another man.<\/p>\n
The defendant allegedly dragged the victim to the bathroom where he ordered her to take off her clothes and underwear.<\/p>\n
The victim said although she felt uncomfortable, she let her boyfriend inspect her body for \u201devidence of having sex with another man.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman was scared so she later told Ham she would get money from her mother. The defendant agreed, but he would not give to her their baby.<\/p>\n
The victim then informed her mother on what happened. The victim\u2019s two sisters went to the defendant\u2019s house to take the baby. He refused to give the baby.<\/p>\n
Ham threw a punch at the victim, but he did not connect. He stated that if they would take the baby he would tear the baby in half. At that time, the baby was crying loudly, police said.<\/p>\n
With the baby still with him, Ham then ran to the bushy area. Responding police officers later located the defendant still holding the baby at Joker\u2019s Game Room in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n
The defendant was arrested. The baby was turned over to the mother safely, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim said while in the police\u2019s car, the defendant threatened her, \u201cYou wait until I get out.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim said during their one-year relationship, Ham would beat her several times. It was the first time she reported the matter to the police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
