{"id":96910,"date":"2006-01-05T04:29:00","date_gmt":"2006-01-05T04:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a5e86d15-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-01-05T04:29:00","modified_gmt":"2006-01-05T04:29:00","slug":"a5e86d26-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a5e86d26-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"NMA extends appreciation to MAC supporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Marianas Athletics extended its appreciation to all who assisted and supported in the hosting of the 2nd Micronesia Athletics Championships last month.<\/p>\n<p>In the appreciation message, NMA recognized main sponsors Wells Fargo Financial, Microl-Toyota, and UMDA, as well as Coca-Cola, Powerade, Aquarius, Subway, McDonalds of Saipan, Triple B Forwarders, and Quality Water.<\/p>\n<p>NMA also extended a special appreciation to the Office of the Governor, the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office, Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb, Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Department of Public Works, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs-Division of Sports and Recreation, Commonwealth Health Center-Department of Public Health, Department of Public Safety-Emergency Medical Service, Steve Pixley, the Marianas High School JROTC, the Saipan Southern High School Band, Natibu\u2019s Kitchen, China House Restaurant, Pacific Development Inc., and all officials and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Over 100 athletes from Kiribati, Nauru, Guam, Palau, Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia joined CNMI athletes in competing in the event, which was held last Dec. 14 and 15.<\/p>\n<p>Also in attendance were Oceania Athletics Association president Anne Tierney, OAA executive director Yvonne Mullins, and OAA Council members Janelle Eldridge and Geoff Gardner as well as other officials from federations around the region. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NMA is very fortunate to have the support from the community, various businesses, and from the government,\u201d NMA said. \u201cIt was a successful historic event especially since this was the first major track meet held on Saipan in 15 years. It was the first to be held at night.
