{"id":97664,"date":"2006-02-01T06:10:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-01T06:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a633b681-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-01T06:10:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-01T06:10:00","slug":"a633b692-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a633b692-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Car sales down by 20 percent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Car sales during the month of January this year posted a 20.81-percent decline compared with the same month last year.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics from the Commonwealth Auto Dealer\u2019s Association showed that there were 118 cars sold last month; in January 2005, there were 149 sold vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>CADA said local dealers sold 55 cars, 29 trucks, seven vans, and 27 sports utility vehicles last month.<\/p>\n<p>Based on sales, Joeten Motors leads with 46 sold cars, Microl Corp. comes next with 42, and Triple J Motors, 30.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of franchise, Toyota remains the CNMI motorists\u2019 favorite, cornering 33 percent of the market.<\/p>\n<p>CADA said there were 40 Toyota cars sold; Nissan, 22; Hyundai, 13; Honda and Mazda, 12 each; Ford, 9; Suzuki, 3; and Chevrolet and all others, one each.<\/p>\n<p>Microl Corp. sells Toyota and Chevrolet while Joeten Motors sells Nissan, Ford, Honda, and Kia.
