{"id":97701,"date":"2006-02-02T05:01:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-02T05:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a63c063a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-02T05:01:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-02T05:01:00","slug":"a63c064b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a63c064b-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Fund gets four applicants for 3rd party administrator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NMI Retirement Fund has received four proposals to administer the government\u2019s group health insurance program.<\/p>\n<p>These include proposals from existing provider, Hawaii Pacific Medical Referral, as well as Select Care which previously submitted a proposal to privatize the Fund\u2019s group health insurance program.<\/p>\n<p>The local government eventually turned down Select Care\u2019s proposal following findings that it would result in higher costs.<\/p>\n<p>Fund administrator Karl T. Reyes said yesterday that U.S.-based Aetna also submitted a proposal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a fourth company but its application is still at the post office,\u201d said Reyes.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for the submission of proposals is set today.<\/p>\n<p>The Fund issued last month an RFP for a three-year service contract with a third party administrator.  <\/p>\n<p>HPMR had signed a three-year contract with the Fund in August 2001.
