{"id":98021,"date":"2006-02-13T06:27:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-13T06:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a6553c89-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-13T06:27:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-13T06:27:00","slug":"a6553c99-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a6553c99-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Kamikaze tops 1st SPG qualifier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joe \u201cKamikaze\u201d Camacho topped the first qualifying tournament to select the CNMI National Men\u2019s Golf Team for the 2007 South Pacific Games in Apia, American Samoa.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho won the event after firing a 3-under 69 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 11 local duffers participated in the event with Camacho getting challenged by Jeff Taylor and Jess Wabol, who both finished four strokes back at 1-over 73.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Satur was three strokes behind Wabol and Taylor with his 76, while Adam Hardwich and Gus Camacho were ties at 80. Other participants of the qualifier were Jack Sablan (81), Alex Aquiningoc (83), Louie Tilipao (86), Sang Kim (87), and Sonny Flores (92).<\/p>\n<p>Aside from forming a men\u2019s team for the Apia, American Samoa SPG, tournament director Jess Wabol is also looking at fielding a women\u2019s team for the Games and is encouraging lady duffers to join the tryouts provided they meet the four-year residency requirement.
