{"id":98056,"date":"2006-02-15T05:29:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-15T05:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a655bc52-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-02-15T05:29:00","modified_gmt":"2006-02-15T05:29:00","slug":"a655bc66-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a655bc66-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Cracked cylinder prompts emergency load shedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. implemented an emergency load shedding yesterday beginning late afternoon until 11pm due to a mechanical failure\u2014a cracked cylinder liner\u2014at Engine No. 6.<\/p>\n<p>The load shedding was first implemented on Feeder 1-Second Partial, from 5pm to 7pm, affecting residents in Upper MIHA and portions of Garapan and China Town.<\/p>\n<p>From 7pm to 9pm, power was turned off at the Kiya 1-Second Partial, affecting consumers in Lower Dandan, portions of Upper Dandan and Isley Field, CPA\/Airport, Koblerville, As Perdido and As Gonno.<\/p>\n<p>From 9pm to 11pm, areas covered by Kiya 2-Second Partial were affected, including Chalan Kanoa Distric 3, portions of Districts 1 and 2, Tun Doi Road, Fina Sisu, portions of As Perdido, Chalan Piao and San Antonio. <\/p>\n<p>Traffic lights, water and sewer services at most of these areas were also affected.<\/p>\n<p>CUC said it is diligently working to repair Engine No. 6, and is expected to be back up this morning.
