The Superior Court has dismissed the charges against third man accused of ganging up on a man inside a store at a Garapan motel.<\/p>\n
Associate Judge David A. Wiseman dropped the case against Wang Sheng Sheng after the Attorney General\u2019s Office moved to dismiss the charges.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the government\u2019s representation and for good cause shown, the case is dismissed as to Wang Sheng Sheng,\u201d Wiseman said.<\/p>\n
Wang and co-defendants Luo Fang and Yong Luo were originally charged with aggravated assault and battery and other charges.<\/p>\n
The AGO filed on Monday a second amended information charging the defendants with only assault and battery.<\/p>\n
Luo Gang and Yong Luo entered a plea agreement with the government and pleaded guilty. <\/p>\n
The plea agreement stated that on May 23, 2005 the defendants beat up and wounded Jun Chen.<\/p>\n
Luo Fang was sentenced to one year in jail, all suspended except for 45 days, with credit for 14 days. <\/p>\n
Yong Luo was sentenced to one year in prison, all suspended except for 52 days. He was given credit for the 52 days he already served in jail.<\/p>\n
According to police, the beating perpetrated by the defendants and three others happened inside JD Store II on the ground floor of Joy Motel. <\/p>\n
Mr. Chen suffered two large lacerations on top of his head and bruises to the arms, right hand, stomach, and back.<\/p>\n
The three defendants, all employees of a karaoke joint, were arrested a few days later.<\/p>\n
According to police in court papers, the six men, said to be members of a Fujian group, arrived at Joy Motel and started beating up Chen inside JD Store which is located on the ground floor of the motel.<\/p>\n
One was armed with a handgun concealed in a piece of paper, while the two others were holding a golf club and a metal pipe.<\/p>\n
Police said when they interviewed Chen in the hospital, he stated he does not know why the group ganged up on him. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
